The monkey returns
At long last, Monkey, Dean Jones, has made his return to the ring/ cage. After taking out 2 years from professional competition he has made a successful return, but it wasn't an easy one.
Our man Dean Jones faced up against Cristian Binda from Italy at UWC 4 on 2nd June 2007. This was to be a 3 round battle which pushed Dean to his limit. Leading on points after 2 rounds it looked like the fight was going to go to a decision after the 3rd, but Dean's submission skills proved to be his saving grace as he pulled of a Kimura forcing the formidable Cristian to tap at 1:27 of the 3rd round. This now brings Dean's record to an impressive 4 wins, 0 losses and 1 draw.
A few people voiced their concerns that Dean might suffer from ring rust, but Dean seems to have shaken it off. We will keep you posted on his upcoming fight deals as they develop.
Anthony also won his fight this month at the Strike & Grapple show in Wales via a arm-triangle choke. This now brings his record to a 1-1 and we look forward to seeing the big man carry on his winning streak.
After UKMMAC cancelled their show 34 hours before the event, Ash and Guy were dissapointed that all their hard work and training were not put into use. But fear not a deal might be made for them to appear on the FX3 card in July. We will keep you posted on these developments as they happen.
Now to announce some class timetable changes. Due to the summer period, classes are usually quieter. So for the month of August we are going to be cutting down a few classes. From August there will be NO classes on Tuesday and Thursday, so classes on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday will resume as normal.
