This coming weekend the next Seni, the combat sports show event is being held in Excel London. They will display an array of combat sports, hold seminars, hold tournaments, and have 6 UFC fighters available to sign autographs. These fighters are Michael Bisping, Josh Koscheck, Antonio Nogueira, Anderson Silva, Rashad Evans, and our very own Jess Liuadin. The UFC are sponsoring Seni and have stated that they will be holding tryouts for one of their future TUF shows or UFC events.
Now to the news you've all been waiting for. A few PL Soldiers are having fights in the next coming weeks. These include Ashleigh Grimshaw, the long awaited and much anticipated return of Dean Jones, Andrew, and making his debut for our camp Guy Hennequi.
The first event is on May 27th at UKMMAC in Circus Tavern. Ashleigh Grimshaw will be competing against experienced fighter Billy Harris for the Lightweight Championship which was once held by former PL fighter Mark Chen. Ash will be aiming to bring the belt back to the PL team. Billy with a background in Judo has stated he has been training alot in boxing and the word is that he is getting very good with his hands. We anticipate this is going to be a very good match and definitely a crowd pleaser. On the same card Guy Hennequin will be making his debut against Darren Russel. Guy has been training very hard for the past 5 months, and we are all looking forward to seeing all his and our hard work put into action.
On June 2nd at Ultimate Warrior Challenge, Dean Jones will finally be making his long awaited return to the world of mixed martial arts competition since his last bout back in 2004. He will be facing Christian Binda from Italy who has a record of 3-1. Will Dean Jones experience a bit of ring rust, or will he continue his winning streak and maintain his undefeated record? Seeing Dean's performance at training we predict that Christian is going to be in for a long night (or a very short one if Dean is the same fighting machine he once was). On the same card Andrew Burnett will be squaring up against Simon Thorensen from Team Norway. Not much is known about this fighter, but we expect this to be a good fight for Andrew.
